Many inexperienced movers will try to pack their home into the smallest number of big boxes they can find, we often have to politely inform people that the box size they are requesting could only be lifted by fork truck. “I won’t be lifting them”, is the stock reply.
Packing is an area of your move over which you have control. Use box sizes suitable for manual handling and start packing as early as possible. All our listed packing box dimensions are internal (Never external) – By quoting internal dimensions, we maintain packaging industry standard practise.
All our moving boxes are printed with HANDLE WITH CARE, FRAGILE and THIS WAY UP messages (Never ever plain)
Our sealing tape is always strong bond vinyl (Never ever polypropylene) Frequently referred to as parcel tape, low cost polypropylene fails to stick to some materials; hence major moving companies always use a vinyl tape.
A Room locator information panel is printed on all our regular packing boxes
Individually wrap glasses and plates and pack them upright in protection dividers.
Ensure packed items cannot move by filling all box spaces with cushioning material such as bubble wrap, tissue or general packing paper. – PLATES OR GLASSWARE LAID FLAT WILL CRACK IF IMPACT OCCURS. – We supply both glassware and plate protection dividers.
Tape packing boxes in the ‘H’ tape style top and bottom if shipping overseas. Only use a good quality vinyl tape to create a non-peel able tamper evident bond. – All our moving boxes show a printed illustration of the H tape method.
If shipping to Germany, ensure your removal boxes show the printed ‘RESY’ recycle symbol. This proves to the authorities that the manufacturer has paid the environmental levy. Corrugated packaging not bearing this stamp may be turned away at the border. - All our packing boxes bear this symbol.
